Rex HArtwig

Rex Hartwig graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1974 from the University of Nebraska.  From there he matriculated at the University of Arizona where he completed a Master of Science, with a specialization in Athletic Training, in 1975.  He began his professional career with a one year stint as Head Athletic Trainer at Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida.  From 1977 until 1981, Rex was the Head Athletic Trainer at Highlands High School until his promotion to the current position of Coordinating Athletic Trainer for San Antonio Independent School District.

Rex served on the Secondary School Committee for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.  He also is a Past President of the Alamo Area Athletic Trainers’ Association, serving in 1988.
